Energy Auditing
Tandem Energy follows the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 3598:2014 for energy audits, which details three types of audits. The cost of an audit will vary considerably depending on the size and complexity of the site, as well as the audit type required. Contact us for a free preliminary site overview and quote.
Type 1: Generalised walk-through
This can be a cost-effective way to get an understanding of where you should start focussing your energy efficiency efforts. We consider a Type 1 audit the start of our relationship with you, a benchmark to help us determine how we can best work with you to achieve results.
Type 2: Recording of energy consumption
In this audit type, we determine the energy end use breakdown of your site using as well as identifying relevant energy efficiency solutions. This is useful when developing an energy management plan or to identify the most important and cost-effective actions to undertake to reduce your energy costs. The information you receive from a Type 2 audit will allow you to begin implementing changes immediately, either on your own or with our assistance.
Type 3: Focused sub-audit
The Type 3 audit focuses on one section or piece of equipment. This is useful to build on the findings of a type 1 or 2 audit, justify large capital expenditure such as refrigeration upgrades, and to develop a business case to present for financing applications.
Our process
Gathering of information
We like to find out as much about your business as possible – before we even step foot on-site. By gathering information from both yourself and your energy provider prior to our site visit, we ensure that we utilise your time and resources as efficiently as possible.
Site visit
Our site visits are well planned to ensure that we don’t interfere with operations whilst gathering valuable data that enables us to provide you with optimal energy solutions. A visit typically starts with some site-specific questioning, followed by a walk-through to capture physical site information. Further data collection may also be gathered through data-logging, depending on the site’s requirements.
Reporting
After analysing all of the gathered information, we provide you with a detailed, structured report, which highlights observations, recommendations, and suggests effective strategies for ongoing energy savings. We then work with you to implement these strategies, as well as providing training for you and your team.
