2023 has been a busy year for Tandem Energy, but they say time flies when you’re having fun (saving the world). Here are just some of the projects we’ve worked on this year.

We love working with our good friends at City of Adelaide so we’ve done a lot with them including:

  • Energy and resource recovery assessments to help small businesses discover ways to save energy and reduce emissions associated with energy use and sending waste to landfill.
  • Climate Active certification for the city UParks to ensure they are carbon neutral.
  • Climate resilience assessments of heritage buildings in the city to determine whether they will be able to stand up to the impending changes in climate that will impact Adelaide in the coming years.
  • A review of the council’s Incentives for Sustainability program to estimate which rebates provide the most bang for buck when it comes to preventing emissions for householders and small business owners (Hint: it might be appliance electrification).
  • Supporting the running of the national CitySwitch program through the delivery of energy efficiency resources for the CitySwitch website and the onboarding of new Adelaide-based members to the program.

We’ve done work for other councils such as:

  • An EV charger feasibility study – how many, where and how much it will cost?
  • Solar system monitoring to ensure ongoing performance efficiency
  • and what is turning into somewhat of a theme, we have reviewed the energy performance of three different recreation centres in SA, all with pools and all with great opportunities for energy and emissions reduction.

We love developing long-term relationships with our clients, and continue to work with some well-loved Barossa and Clare wineries after conducting energy audits in previous years, to improve their energy security and efficiency, measure emissions and develop pathways for emissions reduction.

We compiled numerous annual compliance reports to submit to ESCOSA verifying that our clients are appropriately managing their large solar systems.

We conducted audits for a local commercial recycling company collecting waste from building sites to identify waste streams that can be eliminated or reduced by more efficient procurement practices.

We designed and delivered energy coaching workshops and community presentations, and chaired sustainability committee meetings for businesses and organisations.

We have been engaged on major projects, modelling and reporting on emissions reduction pathways for large commercial enterprises and even a proposed industrial precinct.

Phew!

We have many and varied projects on the go at any given time. Sustainability projects can be small or enormously complex, but every little bit helps. Does any of this sound like it could be useful for your organisation? Get in touch to book a meeting and we can work out how to help your business. Stay tuned for some very exciting news about the future of Tandem Energy early next year…!
