If you have a solar system, you would be aware that it doesn’t pump out electricity every minute of every day. However, the amount of sunshine hitting the panels isn’t the only reason that your system might not be working at full capacity.
Tandem Energy’s solar system performance monitoring involves a regular check of your system data from your monitoring device and checking the output of your system and inverters using our analysis tool. With our experience we can work out what may be affecting your output, such as system faults, or bad weather, and if necessary, recommend solutions. By understanding how your solar system is performing on the good days, you can more easily identify when something has gone wrong.

Regular checks allow you to promptly schedule maintenance and repairs when necessary, and have the system back to maximum output with minimum downtime, reducing your energy consumption and maximising return on your investment.

Depending on your system size, you will receive a monthly or quarterly personalised report, including screenshots from your dashboard and easy to understand graphics describing your system performance. This will allow you to observe any trends and help you to decide whether any proactive maintenance needs to be scheduled for your system.

Sounds complicated? Nah. It’s not that tricky, it just takes practice and understanding how to interpret the data. If you’d like to learn to do this in-house rather than have Tandem monitoring, we can deliver a training package to teach your management team, maintenance and/or sustainability staff how to read your dashboard, how to interpret the live and historic site data, and use the various tools available so that you can accomplish the same analysis in your own time. We can also show you how to utilise load shifting to minimise energy consumption at peak times, saving you money and reducing your emissions. This is a must-do if you are considering a net zero pathway.

Just remember, you are not in this alone and we are here to help. If you want training, we can train you, but if you don’t have the capacity to manage this yourself, we can do it. Why not try out our service for a year and see if it helps you to optimise your solar output?
